Net Zero China.

The roadmap towards net zero emissions is set and all the countries in the planet will sooner or later adopt green hydrogen as fuel. Hydrogen might, thus, become one of the global economy’s largest commodities.

It’s clear that China is the largest global market and the Chinese government has already announced their target to achieve 25% decarbonisation by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2060. Being this so, it’s likely that hydrogen technologies will be developed faster and costs will fall accordingly.

FCVs appeared in the Chinese roads in 2016 and have been increasing ever since. HPC (High Pressure Cylinders) at 70MPa have been preliminary approved for use in commercial vehicles. Hydrogen gas is now classified as a “clean energy fuel” and they have also promoted an incentive system to encourage hydrogen energy city clusters.

It’s expected that the post-COVID19 recovery plan and the upcoming five-year plan will include policies promoting fuel cell technology.
